Today I will show you a small "old" village with
a "young" mineral spring. This village is located in another lovely
area of Bavaria, in the Chiemgau. Many of you know for sure the name "Chiemsee"
with one of the world-famous castles from the Bavarian king Ludwig II.
This lake is also named the "Bavarian Sea". Between
the Chiemsee and Munich there is one of the oldest nature park in Bavaria with
a lot of small lakes and just in the middle of that area you will find Bad
Endorf.
I said, Bad Endorf is an "old" village. That is
true. The documented roots are back till the years 900 around. But the history
is not so exciting like in other towns or villages. The main important thing
is the "young" mineral spring. In 1962 there were in Bavaria a lot
of testing drills into the ground searching for nature treasures like oil or
gas. And drilling down to 4800 meters they were lucky - is grumbles and then
it came - but sorry, sorry, no oil, no gas. It was water ! Only water !
But this water was warm, it was a thermal spring they have
found. And by testing the quality, they expiered another most worthfully side
of that spring, it concludes iodine. So, it was only a short time till Bad
Endorf became a thermal spa. That's why I told you about a "young"
spring.
Bad Endorf has a very good name since the 80ties now for
therapeutics in case of eye-sickness, high blood pressure, problems with the
body moving system, heart- and circuit-difficulties or rheumatism. They have
there good doctors and a lot of treated people are very lucky after these cures.
So many of them come again only for refreshing, relaxing or vacation.
Now you want know how to find Bad Endorf, right ? It es
very easy. If you know the highway from Munich to Salzburg in Austria, you
take either the exit Rosenheim or Bernau to reach very soon that nice village.
I also drive from Munich airport the same way, the distance is only about 80
kilometers (55 miles). A lot of people use the train too, Bad Endorf is connected
to the train-road Munich-Salzburg and every hour one of the Interregio- or
Intercity-trains stops there.
Because Bad Endorf is located in that nature park region
it still has kept his lovely kind of being small and familiar although the
therapeutic houses are on the newest level in knowledge and supply. Even new
buildings are constructed under the view of pleasing the lovely region.
And if you have never seen you will be overtaken by the
opportunities of that nice landscape. My small pictures are only weak examples,
the Lord has made in that area a really treasure mix of everything what's nice.
In short trips you can reach the Alps, you will always see
them just in front of you (if not turning your back to them). Nice trips to
Salzburg, Innsbruck, Munich or only in the near of Bad Endorf will excite you.
Playing tennis or golf ? No problem, you have the chance there (after or while
using the healing water). You can nearly do any sports, biking, swimming, mountaineering,
fishing or even only relaxing. The best would be, plan your next vacation there,
I will pick you up from the airport and shortly you are in a familiary location.
